By “normal schedule of adhesive,” we mean adhesive applied with a trowel pattern/size as prescribed by the manufacturer of the adhesive to match job conditions. Beyond that, most floors approved for floating installation can be installed over WarmStep. One important point is that your vinyl floor should be greater than 6.5 mm thick in order to prevent telescoping - which is a process in which the heating elements are “visible” due to a very flexible floor material. There are certain considerations that you will want to make in order to ensure that WarmStep is a good fit.

WarmStep is the only heating system applicable for a direct nail or glue down installation of a solid or engineered wood floor.
